Let me preface by saying that for the price I wasn't expecting anything extravagant. I did, however, expect it to be clean.
The floor was sticky. Inside of fridge and microwave were clean. Top of fridge was dusty. Bathroom was very roomy (ample towels and toilet paper). Water pressure was poor but hot. Inside of shower curtain was dirty. Looked as though someone who was really dirty slung dirty water on it as they showered and it dried and wasn't cleaned off. All in all, I would not recommend or stay again. The simplicity of the place was fine (definitely no frills) but the lack of cleanliness is a problem.
There was also a sign posted on the stairwell door asking guests to dispose of their own garbage in the dumpster.
Smoking @ entrance is truly unacceptable. Allowi g loitering and trash at entrance sites has truly lowered my expectations of Home Suites aka Sun Suites. First impressions are lasting. Rms are good as expected but the care and up keep is important.

I booked two rooms for two nights at this hotel. Once we arrived, there were people hanging around outside. We were given rooms separately which we actually needed connecting rooms. We had all of our children with us (7) of them including teens. While my husband went down stairs we already had a man lurking in our room. The whole third floor stank of cigarettes. People coming in and out this hotel as if it was a crack house! My husband and I went down stairs immediately to cancel one room and one night. We all slept together in one room!! The next morning we left quickly! Priscilla the front desk girl was real helpful. That was probably the only good thing about this hotel. IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!
Other reviewers mentioned people loitering at the front door smoking. I experienced this at checkout. They do have a sign posted on front door that says something along the lines of "no smoking within 25 feet" but it doesn't appear as though it is regarded.
The night clerk, Priscilla, was a gem. Friendly and helpful. Based on other reviews I was concerned that the nonsmoking room I was requesting may have been smoked in. Priscilla walked me to the room before making a reservation. The hall smelled odd (maybe as though someone in a room had fried some food) as did the room (kind of musty) but not like smoke. At a glance the room appeared simple, but fine, and we booked it. Upon bringing our belongings and getting settled (it was nearly 1030 pm when we checked in) it became obvious the linens were not clean. Out if the 2 pillows in the room only one had a pillowcase. The other was bare, stained and dirty. I didn't inspect the pillow that was in the case but I suspect it was in the same condition. We removed them and slept without. The couch pillows on the sleeper were also stained and there were spots on the comforter. After pulling back the sheets on the bed, I was not surprised to find 5-8 stray hairs on the fitted sheet.
Room was clean and the price was right. Some down and out clientele but no problem. If you are squeamish you may want to go elsewhere
